Williamson's Chapel Scholarship Application
Williamson's Chapel United Methodist Church is
committed to encouraging the young people who are part of our
congregation in the pursuit of higher education. A family in the
church has created an endowment fund, the earnings of which are used
to provide a $500 scholarship to a graduating senior high school
student to be applied to the tuition at a college of their choice.
In order to be considered for the scholarship, the student must be a
regular attendee or member of Williamson's Chapel UMC, complete an
application and submit an essay. The application form and the essay
requirements may be obtained at the desk in the narthex, from the
church office, or on the Williamson's Chapel web site.
Applications must be submitted by August 1.
(Note: Anyone may add to the endowment fund by simply designating
it on your contribution envelope or check. If the fund grows
sufficiently, it will be possible to provide more than one
scholarship for deserving students. Granting of the scholarship is
not based on need, but on the commitment of the student as
demonstrated in the essay.)
