NURSERY
Pagers are Available for you!
The nursery is available starting at 8:15 on Sunday mornings. We have paid nursery staff who have taken childcare credentials and First Aid/CPR.
We ask that you sign your child in and take a pager for easy location. We also ask that you label all your child’s belongings as well as cups. Please make sure to give your child’s teacher any special instructions. Our nursery labels should help in this area.
If your child attends regularly, you are asked to serve in our nursery unless you are actively involved in other ministry areas during this time.
All church volunteers who work with children and youth must attend a "Safe Sanctuary" training and complete a background check.
Clothing, Illness, Food, Other
1. Diaper Bags, clothing and other personal items MUST BE LABELED with the child’s full name. Please include a change of clothing and an empty plastic bag for wet or soiled clothing.
2. Disposable diapers are preferred in all rooms.
3. Nursery-age children undergoing toilet-training should have with them a change of clothing in a labeled bag.—PLEASE NOTIFY YOUR TEACHER if your child is potty training.
4. Do not allow your child to bring personal toys or other possessions unless it is a “security” item (pacifier, blanket, etc)
5. Children who are sick (fever, colored mucus from the nose, coughing, vomiting within the last 24 hours, skin rash, etc.) will not be allowed in the nursery.
6. If your child develops a fever or other illness symptoms, you will be asked to take your child home.
7. No medications will be given in the nursery areas.
8. Parents should report any allergies to their child’s teacher and on the nursery label.
9. Under normal circumstances, your child (12 months and older) will be offered a snack. If you prefer your child not be given the snack provided—please let your teacher know.
10. If your child has a food allergy or a special need related to food, please provide your child’s snack.
11. Please refrain from giving your child gum or candy before coming to class. It can be dangerous and is very messy.
12. Parents should indicate on the sign in label where they will be during their stay.
13. Please do not “look in” on your child. This may cause your child to be unnecessarily upset, as well as disrupt the other children.
14. No children above nursery age will be permitted in the nursery rooms unless accompanied by a parent.
15. It is suggested that only one parent call for their child. This will save confusion at the classroom door. Also please be aware of children who are around the door and keep the door closed as much as possible.
16. Children in the nursery will only be allowed to leave with their parents or a sibling. If you have made other arrangements for your child to be picked up—please inform your teacher when dropping off.
