Williamson’s Chapel and Habitat for Humanity

The United Methodist Men at Williamson’s Chapel welcome all people to join us as we build simple, decent, affordable houses in partnership with those who lack adequate housing through Habitat for Humanity. Habitat homeowners purchase their houses through no-profit, no-interest mortgages while contributing hundreds of hours of sweat-equity labor, working on their house and the houses of others. Mortgage payments are placed in a revolving Fund for Humanity to finance the construction of even more houses. Volunteers and donors have made it possible for 369 people, including 224 children, to live in Habitat homes in Mooresville, Davidson, Cornelius, and Huntersville; 2100 people to live in Habitat Homes internationally. 2,567 people no longer live in sub-standard housing conditions due to Our Towns Habitat for Humanity’s efforts. (Statistics updated July 2005.) Our Towns Habitat for Humanity celebrated the dedication of the 100th Habitat home to be built locally since 1988. Williamson's Chapel will start building in October and participate on the 1st and 3rd Saturday's of each month,  through the spring of 2007.
