John Francis
Director of Music
JohnFrancis@WilliamsonsChapel.org
I joined this staff in April of 2005 moving here from Wisconsin. Having served churches in Wisconsin, Virginia, Florida and Great Britain as organist and choir director, I bring a wide variety of experience to share in this growing program. As son and brother of United Methodist pastors, I hold dearly the traditions of the United Methodist Church. Music has always been my primary interest. I cherish the old hymns which reflect our history and the new ones which take the church into the future. I have a Masters Degree in instrumental Music from U of Wisconsin, and have served as bassoonist in community orchestras, director of community choirs and composer of choral music.
As father of two children: Emma – a structural engineer in Boston, and Iain - a Personal Fitness Trainer in Schaumburg, IL, I am continually held accountable for my ‘healthy lifestyle’ in our weekly phone calls and emails With their encouragement and having the Holy Spirit at the center of my life, I enjoy keeping healthy in Spirit, Mind, and Body.
Music is a beautiful tool of the Spirit, and I pray daily that I may be an effective instrument of God’s peace in this congregation.

Julie Carter
Director of Children’s Ministries
JulieCarter@WilliamsonsChapel.org
I joined the Williamson's Chapel staff in June, 2007. I have a BA in Elementary Education and Religion from Coker College in Hartsville, S. C. and a Masters of Religious Education from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky. I have been in Children's Ministry for over 30 years. My life has been enriched over the years by my interaction with children as I view the world through their fresh eyes and hearts. Jerome Berryman who developed the curriculum, Godly Play, writes "when we invite children into God's story by encouraging them to wonder about God, themselves and their world we are teaching them reliance upon a gracious God who is real and accessible in all the mystery of life both sad and joyful." It is an awesome responsibility to be a part of such "holy ground" in the life of a child and their families.
I have fraternal twin daughters, one in graduate school in Charlotte and one in Philadelphia, studing the publishing business. I have previously worked at Myers Park Baptist Church in Charlotte for seventeen years and then at First Presbyterian Church in Boone, N.C. for the past thirteen years. I feel very blessed to have been called to be on staff with this wonderful group of people.
