Do Hard Things, Six week Youth Bible Study http://www.williamsonschapel.org/2007/EventReg/Register1.asp?Key=20923Do Hard Things, Six week Youth Bible Study
Do Hard Things, by Alex and Brett Harris 10:45 - Noon Sunday mornings starting Sept. 12 Six week Bible Study A growing movement of young people is rebelling against the low expectations of today's culture by choosing to do hard things for the glory of God. And Alex and Brett Harris are leading the charge. Do Hard Things is the Harris twins' revolutionary message in its purest and most compelling form, giving readers a tangible glimpse of what is possible for teens who actively resist cultural lies that limit their potential. Combating the idea of adolescence as a vacation from responsibility, the authors weave together biblical insights, history, and modern examples to redefine the teen years as the launching pad of life. Then they map out five powerful ways teens can respond for personal and social change. Written by teens for teens, Do Hard Things is packed with humorous personal anecdotes, practical examples, and stories of real-life rebelutionaries in action. This rallying cry from the heart of an already-happening teen revolution challenges a generation to lay claim to a brighter future, starting today.

Childrens Sunday School 2010-11 http://www.williamsonschapel.org/2007/Children/ss1.asp
NEW PROGRAMS FOR KIDS ON SUNDAYS! At Williamson's Chapel, we believe the Bible should never be boring, worship can be fun and loud, and great leaders always care! This fall at 9:30 a.m., children in grades 1-5 grade will have a new, powerful large and small group experience with awesome leaders, quality time with friends, and a safe place to ask questions and talk about their faith. During Large Group, kids will hear a Bible story. We’ll use costumes, props, and characters from the story - anything that makes the Bible come to life! We will have special time for kids to sing as loud as they want and tell God how much they love Him! In Small Group, kids will see how God’s word fits into their life, learn how to talk with Him, and build friendships that last. That’s why it’s so important to register your preschooler or elementary age child and bring them regularly at the same hour. It’s the same small group every week, same leader, and same kids. This gets them connected and helps to establish a relationship that’s going to matter when they need it most. Kids ages 3 through Kindergarten will have fun participating in age specific activities and lessons (including Bible stories, crafts, and games). They will be cared for by loving teachers as they learn more about God and have lots of friends to play with. Preschool and Kindergarten Small Groups and Large Group Worship coming soon! Stay tuned for further details! At 11:00 a.m., kids will experience Bible stories in a fun and engaging way by participating in workshop-based experiential activities for the fall. Children will have a deeper understanding of the Bible story through engaging games, crafts, and other creative activities.

AltarEd - Confirmation Experience 2010-2011 http://www.williamsonschapel.org/2007/EventReg/Register1.asp?Key=21510AltarEd - Confirmation Experience 2010-2011
This class will start September 22nd from 5:15-6:15! There will be 2 informational parent meetings on September 8th and 15th at 5:15 at the God Cave! You only have to attend one of these meetings!

Confirmation is a class for 6th graders and 7th & 8th grade youth who have not yet confirmed their baptism or been baptized!

We will be exploring the 3 aspects of the trinity, the Bible, worship, grace, John Wesley, Methodism, what it means to be a Christian, Sin and Salvation and much more!

If you are high school youth that has not been baptized or confirmed, you will have the option of doing a one on one mentoring based curriculum!!!

In the Methodist church, parents have the option of having their child baptized at a young age. Confirmation is the process of that child claiming their Baptism for themselves, and confirming their faith and commitment to God and the church!

This class will run through May of 2011 and Confirmation Sunday will likely be May 22nd, 2011! This is a tentative date, but will be set in stone soon!

There WILL NOT be a retreat the weekend of September 10th-11th like we had talked about at the 5th grade parent meetings (A camp for a reasonable price is not really available)!

We WILL have a retreat February 2011 at Camp Tekoa to help enhance our confirmation program! We will be joining several other churches and we will get to experience many of the great things camp has to offer!!!

Kevin Ward, our youth director teaches the class, but needs other adults to assist who have a desire to see youth claim their baptism and publically confess their faith in their God!

In the comment section please include your childs school and grade, date of baptism and middle name.

Today most of the things we read in the paper or hear over the news has very little to say about JOY, and of all people, Christians have the greatest source to experience JOY in their lives. Did you know that there are over 200 references of the word JOY in the Bible? Now if God mentioned it that many times in His Word, dont you think He wants us to experience JOY? Christian writer, Tommy Newberry has made these statements about JOY: Joy is an outward sign of inward faith in the promises of God. Joy is within us, but it must be released. We would like for you to join us in exploring, learning, and applying joyful living through the study of Gods Word on Sunday mornings. Philippians 4:4... C.S. Lewis Study http://www.williamsonschapel.org/2007/EventReg/Register1.asp?Key=21174C.S. Lewis Study
C.S. Lewis Study (Movie and Book) 6:00- 7:00 PM Room A201 Mere Christianity $21.00 September 8-October 13 We will start off by watching the movie, Through The Shadowlands. This film is about the agonizing spiritual crisis of C.S. Lewis when his wife died from cancer. The love, grief, pain, and sorrow were so shattering to Lewis that his basic Christian beliefs, magnificently communicated in his many books, were now called into serious doubt. But he picked up the pieces and moved out of the depressing shadowlands, realizing that real life has not even begun yet. Then the class will read Mere Christianity. Expanded into a book form, Mere Christianity, never flinches as it sets out a rational basis for Christianity and builds an edifice of compassionate morality atop this foundation. As Mr. Lewis clearly demonstrates, Christianity is not a religion of flitting angels and blind faith, but of free will, an innate sense of justice and the grace of God. The Book of Revelation http://www.williamsonschapel.org/2007/EventReg/Register1.asp?Key=21011The Book of Revelation
11:00 AM-12:00 Noon Room A204 led by Lawrence Salmon Bring your Bible October 17-November 21 The Book of Revelation makes us nervous. Even a person who has never read a word of the Bible has heard about Revelation. We hear about various colored horses, the Anti-Christ, the seven seals, trumpets, and bowls, the beast, and know it is apocalyptic, but we get nervous just the same. When we get enough courage to actually read the book, it starts out pretty mild, but it gets frightfully ugly fast and we close it quickly, preferring to read something less threatening. No one fully understands this book and many of the mysteries will remain unsolved. We will not agree with everything but, as Christians, we can grasp and understand much of what John saw and wrote. We will wrestle through this book but we will come away blessed with the knowledge that our Lord Jesus Christ is victorious, and we, as His faithful saints, will persevere.
