SMALL STEPS GOD-SIZED RESULTS http://www.williamsonschapel.org/2007/Announcements/Announcements2.asp?ID=2321
Rev. Charles Kyker and Rev. Bob Disher will present two seminars that will tell how they have been challenged by many hindrances in their ministries and how they began with small steps that we can all do, the results of which have been nothing short of astounding!

We will meet at 9:30 AM for coffee and donuts, have an exciting and vibrant time of worship together, then learn from people who have encountered extraordinary circumstances and have thrived as a result. Childcare will be provided and a short lunch meal will be provided, as long as you register with Helen McNamara in our church office ahead of time (704-664-3680).

DON’T MISS THIS!!! If you are a leader in our church, PLEASE come out for this & learn from those that have been where we are!

Blessings and peace,
Scott Ireland

West Campus Launches September 12! http://www.williamsonschapel.org/2007/Announcements/Announcements2.asp?ID=2320
When people not engaged in a faith community were polled regarding what they thought of when the word "Christian" was used, 85% said judgmental, 76% said hypocritical, and 75% said insensitive to the needs of others. As we seek to "Break out of the Huddle" we are going to be intentional about combating those criticisms of Christians. We are going to practice radical hospitality and radical love as we show that followers of Christ can be non-judgmental, accepting and people that seek to make a difference in the lives of others… people that change lives and change the world based on the needs around them.

If you take 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 and substitute the words "The church" where it says love, it defines who we as a West Campus are going to be!

Love never gives up.
Love cares more for others than for self.
Love doesnt want what it doesnt have.
Love doesnt strut,
Doesnt have a swelled head,
Doesnt force itself on others,
Isnt always "me first",
Doesnt fly off the handle,
Doesnt keep score of the sins of others,
Doesnt revel when others grovel,
Love takes pleasure in the flowering of truth,
Puts up with anything,
Trusts God always,
Always looks for the best,
Never looks back,
But keeps going to the end.

Thank you for your prayers, your support, your encouragement, and spreading the news to your friends and neighbors that are not involved in a faith community.  If they are looking for something that is laid back, contemporary setting, and a place where questions and uncertainty are welcome as we journey on the Way together, we believe the West Campus may be the place they can feel at home.

Grace and Peace,
Andrea

XTREME KIDZ! http://www.williamsonschapel.org/2007/Announcements/Announcements2.asp?ID=2303
NEW PROGRAMS FOR KIDS ON SUNDAYS!

At Williamsons Chapel, we believe the Bible should never be boring, worship can be fun and loud, and great leaders always care! This fall at 9:30 AM, children in grades 1-5 grade will have a new, powerful large and small group experience with awesome leaders, quality time with friends, and a safe place to ask questions and talk about their faith.

During Large Group, kids will hear a Bible story. We will use costumes, props, and characters from the story - anything that makes the Bible come to life! We will have special time for kids to sing as loud as they want and tell God how much they love Him!

In Small Group, kids will see how Gods word fits into their life, learn how to talk with Him, and build friendships that last. That is why it is so important to register your preschooler or elementary age child and bring them regularly at the same hour. It is the same small group every week, same leader, and same kids. This gets them connected and helps to establish a relationship that is going to matter when they need it most.
Kids ages 3 through Kindergarten will have fun participating in age specific activities and lessons (including Bible stories, crafts, and games). They will be cared for by loving teachers as they learn more about God and have lots of friends to play with.

Preschool and Kindergarten Small Groups and Large Group Worship coming soon! Stay tuned for further details!

At 11:00 AM, kids will experience Bible stories in a fun and engaging way by participating in workshop-based experiential activities for the fall. Children will have a deeper understanding of the Bible story through engaging games, crafts, and other creative activities.

AltarEd - Confirmation Experience http://www.williamsonschapel.org/2007/Announcements/Announcements2.asp?ID=2309September 8th and 15th at 5:15 at the God Cave!
You only have to attend one of these meetings!

Confirmation is a class for 6th-9th grade youth who have not yet confirmed their baptism or been baptized!

We will be exploring the three aspects of the trinity, the Bible, worship, grace, John Wesley, Methodism, what it means to be a Christian, sin and salvation and much more!

If you are high school youth that has not been baptized or confirmed, you will have the option of doing a one on one mentoring based curriculum!

In the Methodist church, parents have the option of having their child baptized at a young age. Confirmation is the process of that child claiming their Baptism for themselves, and confirming their faith and commitment to God and the church!

This class continues through May 2011 and Confirmation Sunday will likely be May 22nd, 2011! This is a tentative date, but will be set in stone soon!

There WILL NOT be a retreat the weekend of September 10th-11th like we had talked about at the 5th grade parent meetings (A camp for a reasonable price is not really available)!

We WILL have a retreat February 2011 at Camp Tekoa to help enhance our confirmation program! We will be joining several other churches and we will get to experience many of the great things camp has to offer!

Kevin Ward, our youth director teaches the class, but needs other adults to assist who have a desire to see youth claim their baptism and publically confess their faith in their God!
