February Mission Opportunity

Feed my Starving Children (FMSC) is a non-profit Christian organization dedicated to feeding hungry children in over 70 countries around the world. We have the awesome privilege of partnering with this organization for the third year in a row to help hand pack meals that are specially formulated to nourish and strengthen starving children! Each meal costs only .24 cents, the price of a gum-ball for you and me. Your donation to “missions” in the month of February will go towards our goal of providing 130,000 meals from our church family. Please mark ‘Missions” on your offering envelope or check. Also, please join us as we come together on April 27 and April 28th to pack these meals. Our volunteer website is open and ready for you to select your time-slot. Just go to www.fmsc.org. Choose Mobile Pack events and then chose North Carolina. You will see Williamsons Chapel as a location and a button to sign-up to volunteer. Sign-up soon as this is a popular event and the slots fill up fast. Lastly, please look for those M&M tubes that our kids just love to get. We will be handing them out in the next few weeks for you to enjoy the candy then fill with quarters and return to us. All of the money collected from these tubes goes directly to the meals. The more quarters we get the more meals we can provide. Finally, please be praying for our church to make an impact on feeding hungry children around the world in the name of Christ through this event !

Blessed are those who are generous because they feed the poor. Proverbs 22:9

Please mark "Missions" on your check or offering envelope to contribute to this worthwhile organization.

Happening at West

In order to carry out the mission and vision of WCUMC we seek to serve, both internally and externally. Our focus is "inside the walls" and "beyond" them! At West, one way we have tried to encourage this is for people to find their "burning bush!"

How is God speaking to people... pushing them to get involved... is it a way that we are already involved in ministry? We celebrated over the past two weeks we have one new trailer driver (YIPEEEEE!) and two people who are feeling led to learning the sound board and lighting system!

However it doesn't have to be a ministry that is already existing! If someone is passionate about a ministry or mission, if they are willing to be the catalyst to make it happen and will follow it through completion, we embark on a new service journey!

Fallstown Baptist Church is a small, aging congregation down Perth Road that has a food pantry in which they supply the residents in the area with groceries. The food pantry is open bi-weekly and people come get 2 bags of food for their families. Because of the age of the congregation, they were facing the decision to close down the pantry operation. Then they ran into someone who attends West and a burning bush became a contagious fire. Since September we've had people from West man the food distribution twice weekly! This is a ministry that runs like "clock-work" without any involvement from the Leadership Team or the pastor... truly a vision of what "the church" in service ministry looks like!

What Burning Bush has God put into your heart, mind, and soul today? If you attend the Brawley campus, contact Mark Jordan and he will find a way to get you plugged in to finding your "niche" today!!!!! If you attend the West Campus - email info@headingwest.org and we will get you plugged in!

Grace and Peace,
Andrea
